Survey of Post Boxes, Iron Pumps & Forge Gates Completed

Abbeyleix Tidy Towns is pleased to announce the completion of a report on the traditional street furniture of Abbeyleix. The report which was prepared by local archaeologist Bernice Molloy is based on a comprehensive survey of Post Boxes, Iron Pumps & Forge Gates in and around the town. This preparation of this report was listed as a priority action under our three year management plan. The report will greately assist our committee in prioritising and developing future work plans and will also provide the first accurate inventory of these heritage features.To download report click here.........
